Aloe fouriei has a small natural habitat in northern Mpumalanga near Lydenburg. It flowers in summer and has a stem, unlike many of the other grass aloes. The leaves are long and slender with some spots on the upper surface.
This plant has been named and described only recently. This may be the reason why collectors have not yet ensured it to be in the horticultural market to the same extent as some other comparable Aloe species (Van Wyk and Smith, 2003).
